Beach Report answers one question before you load the car: is today a good beach day?
We pull live readings from the National Weather Service and NOAA and turn them into a Beach Day Score from 0 to 10. Each beach also gets a color-coded safety flag, its rip current risk and a 7-day forecast that picks out the best day of the week. It's free on iPhone and Android, with no account or sign-up.
Coast to coast, not just one state
Where the data comes from
- National Weather Service: weather, forecasts, and official alerts such as rip current statements and high surf warnings.
- NOAA Tides & Currents and NDBC buoys: tide predictions, wave height and water temperature.
- Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission: red tide sampling for Florida beaches.
- USGS Water Quality Portal: bacteria samples from state beach monitoring programs, checked against EPA Beach Action Values.
Conditions refresh every few minutes. Each reading is labeled as live, last-known or estimated, so you know how fresh it is.
Safety first
Beach Report is an informational guide built on public data. It doesn't replace lifeguards, posted flags or official National Weather Service warnings. Always swim near a lifeguard and follow local guidance.
