About Cayo Costa Beach
Cayo Costa State Park covers a barrier island between Boca Grande and North Captiva, reachable only by boat. Its miles of undeveloped Gulf beach are known for shelling, snorkeling and solitude, with no roads or hotels. Water is warm most of the year and mild in winter. Rip currents are Florida’s deadliest beach hazard, so check the safety flag and rip-current risk above, follow posted flags, and swim near a lifeguard.
