Hanauma Bay Beach Conditions & Surf Report

Hanauma Bay is a protected marine preserve set in a volcanic crater on Oahu's southeast coast, one of the best snorkeling spots in Hawaii. Its calm, clear, reef-filled water teems with tropical fish and sea turtles. To protect the reef, entry requires a reservation and a short conservation briefing, and the bay closes one day a week. The water is warm year-round — typically the mid-70s to low 80s°F.
