About Salvo Beach
Salvo is the southernmost of Hatteras Island's tri-villages, a small, remote community known for its quiet beaches, a popular oceanfront campground, and easy access to the wide, wild sands of Cape Hatteras National Seashore. It's a peaceful, uncrowded corner of the Outer Banks. Gulf Stream influence keeps the water warmer than the latitude suggests: warm in summer (upper 70s to low 80s°F), cool in spring and fall, and cold in winter.
