About Wildwood Beach
Wildwood, in Cape May County, is famous for two things: one of the widest free beaches on the East Coast, and a huge boardwalk lined with amusement piers, rides, and iconic mid-century 'Doo-Wop' motels. It's a high-energy family destination on the southern Jersey Shore, busy all summer. Swimming centers on the warm months with guarded beaches. Water temperature follows the open Atlantic — cool and bracing in the 60s°F in June, warming through July into the low-to-mid 70s°F by August and early September, then cooling through the fall.
