Brownsville sits at the southern tip of Texas near the mouth of the Rio Grande, with its closest Gulf beaches at Boca Chica — a wild, undeveloped stretch beside the SpaceX launch site — and neighboring South Padre Island. Warm water, big skies, and a remote, natural shore define this southernmost corner of the Texas coast. The Gulf is bath-warm in summer (mid-80s°F) and mild in winter, warmer the farther south you go.
