About Satellite Beach
Satellite Beach is a quiet, residential Space Coast city just south of Patrick Space Force Base, named for the space program next door. Its city beach parks, including Pelican Beach Park, lead to a quiet stretch of Atlantic sand where sea turtles nest from May through October. Water is warm most of the year and mild in winter. Not right now. A trial allowed leashed dogs in the morning from January through April 2026, but it ended and the ban is back while the city decides what to do. Check before you go.
When is sea turtle nesting season in Satellite Beach?
May 1 through October 31. Keep off the dunes, fill in holes and keep lights off the beach at night.
