About Johnson Beach

Johnson Beach, officially Rosamond Johnson Beach, is the Perdido Key Area of Gulf Islands National Seashore, east of the developed part of Perdido Key. It offers miles of protected white sand and dunes, a swim beach with a summer lifeguard, and calm Big Lagoon on the north side. Gulf water here is bath-warm in summer and cool in winter. Rip currents are Florida’s deadliest beach hazard, so check the safety flag and rip-current risk above, follow posted flags, and swim near a lifeguard.
