About Jacksonville Beach
Jacksonville Beach is the largest and liveliest of the Jacksonville Beaches, about 15 miles east of downtown Jacksonville. Its landmark fishing pier, oceanfront SeaWalk Pavilion and busy strip of bars and restaurants make it the area’s go-to beach for surfing, events and nightlife, with city Ocean Rescue lifeguards on the sand. The water is warm from late spring through fall and cool in winter. Rip currents are Florida’s deadliest beach hazard, so check the safety flag and rip-current risk above, follow posted flags, and swim near a lifeguard.
