About Destin Beach

Destin sits on Florida's Panhandle 'Emerald Coast' in Okaloosa County, where the East Pass connects Choctawhatchee Bay to the Gulf of Mexico. It's known for green-tinted Gulf water over sugar-white quartz sand, a busy harbor at the heart of its fishing heritage, and Henderson Beach State Park along its shore. Gulf water here is bath-warm in summer and cooler in winter than the peninsula's southern beaches. Rip currents are Florida’s deadliest beach hazard, so check the safety flag and rip-current risk above, follow posted flags, and swim near a lifeguard.
